A Romantic and Timeless Celebration
Paige and Jake celebrated their classic Kansas City wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family. Their day was a beautiful mix of laid-back luxury and timeless design.
They chose classic colors and elegant details while keeping the atmosphere relaxed and full of joy. Their focus was on real moments and genuine connection, not posed perfection.
As a documentary wedding photographer, I loved capturing the laughter, happy tears, and little in-between moments that made this wedding feel so real.
The day began at the historic Hotel Phillips in downtown Kansas City. Its art-deco architecture and moody lighting created a stunning space for getting-ready photos.
Paige shared an emotional first look with her father before seeing her groom. We also captured portraits in the hotel’s rich, dramatic interiors, creating images that felt classic and cinematic.
Next, we headed to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art for couple and wedding party portraits. The museum’s clean lines, grand steps, and manicured lawns offered the perfect backdrop for timeless photos.
We captured joyful, candid moments between the wedding party and quiet, romantic portraits of Paige and Jake among the stone columns. These are some of my favorite images — elegant, editorial, and full of personality.
The celebration continued at The Gallery Event Space
, one of Kansas City’s most elegant downtown venues. The ceremony was filled with heartfelt vows, tears, and smiles from everyone in the room. Cocktail hour at Kill Devil Club was also the perfect place to host guests as we took more couples portraits.
Afterward, guests enjoyed drinks, cake, and dancing late into the night. Heartfelt speeches led to laughter and emotional reactions — moments that made for unforgettable photos.
This wedding perfectly captured what I love most about Kansas City: history, beauty, and genuine emotion. Every location — Hotel Phillips, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and The Gallery Event Space — reflected Paige and Jake’s elegant yet relaxed personalities.
My advice for future couples? Stay in the moment. The best photos happen when you focus on each other and let everything else fade away.
